Meet Kacper: A Young Talent Shaping the Future at avilo
Hi Kacper, how are you today?
I’m feeling great. The sun is shining, there’s no wind outside — maybe the weather in Norway isn’t that bad after all.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the day! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Of course! I’m a 20-year-old apprentice in computer electronics and a very active person. I spend most of my time training, learning new things about electronics, and recently, I’ve started reading more about history. This surprised me because I found history quite boring when I was younger. Besides that, I also practice basketball with a first-division team, which gives me a lot of joy because I get to compete against other skilled players every day.
Where did you first hear about avilo, and why did you want to join our team?
Well, I guess you could say I found it on Google Maps. Three years ago, I was looking for a company where I could be an apprentice. I googled "IT companies near me" and found a company named EMSolutions. I knocked on their door, talked with Steinar, and became part of their company. Later on, I transferred to another company owned by Steinar, Vantevo AS, which is now called avilo AS since we changed the name in June.
What do you appreciate the most about working at avilo?
What I appreciate the most about working at avilo is the fun environment. Even though we’re focused at work, we still take time to talk and laugh together.
Can you describe a moment when you felt proud of being part of the avilo team?
I remember feeling proud the first time I installed the Washd Control scanners at a laundry. I knew that this system would make their workflow easier and more efficient.
You mentioned that you’re very active and spend a lot of time training and learning. How do you like to spend your free time outside of work?
I usually spend a lot of time training. I try to exercise daily to stay in good physical shape, which is really important to me. Because I dedicate so much time to it, I’ve made friends with many others I can compete with. I also spend some time learning about electronics, new inventions, and general industry news, which I later discuss with my brother or colleagues.
If you could give advice to someone starting in your field, what would it be?
I think they should focus on becoming good at problem-solving and coming up with new ideas. A lot of advice you hear is about which programming languages, code editors, or frameworks to use, but I believe that doesn’t matter much in the beginning. Many programming languages are quite similar, depending on what you’re trying to create. Most people start with Python anyway, as it’s an easy language with a wide range of use cases.
